WAVE Festival

WAVE Festival is a wellness movement designed to promote healthy lifestyles and awareness of holistic services and support at an all-inclusive family friendly site. The purpose of this event is to have fun while both educating people about community services and assistance AND providing wellness services onsite.

 

WHAT HAPPENS AT A WAVE FESTIVAL?

Journey to Wellness and Freedom

Upon entering the festival, attendees will be encouraged to navigate vendors that represent specific dimensions of wellness. Attendees will be given a passport to be stamped as they visit each village. The vendors will be offering free on-site services for participants. These services may include, but are not limited to: financial advice, a barber shop providing haircuts, workout sessions hosted by professional trainers, housing or homeownership assistance, chair massages and health screenings.

 

Entertainment

Music, dancing and fun are a key element of the WAVE Festival. The Wave Stage is the place to catch some of the amazing regional talent. The stage features a variety of live entertainment & performers lending their support to the day.

 

Family Zone

Community-based organizations (CBO) and local vendors join the festival to provide children and youth between grades K through 12 school materials and age appropriate entertainment. Additionally, CBOs are available to discuss action steps to address a variety of topics. 

 

Community Collaboration 

Community Collaborations are key to enhance current partnerships and build new ones in a variety of creative strategies. Our vision is that by connecting to new organizations and businesses, we will be able to reach more children, youth, young adults and families. We are looking to engage our government agencies, local businesses and restaurants, community-based organizations and educational institutions. 

 

WHY IS THE WAVE FESTIVAL IMPORTANT?

By producing this event, we will provide opportunities for attendees to engage with local business and restaurants, community-based organizations and local entertainment to become educated on how the eight dimensions of wellness work together to create a healthy person and a healthy community while having fun.

WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF WELLNESS?

Participation in the Wave Festival helps us inform, educate, and raise awareness about the 8 dimensions of wellness. Resources and supports are carefully curated using the MAI PEACE™ wellness areas to create a village of vendors, entertainment and children/youth zone. Special activities will emphasize the importance of wellness, social justice, arts/entertainment and financial freedom.
